FAQ: Mother & Daughter Experience
1. This sounds like an amazing weekend but I'm confused about what we will do. Can you tell me more about how you get to these outcomes?
Activ8 has a long history of supporting high performance for individuals, families, teams and organizations. We use a mix of facilitated conversations, experiential learning activities, and a high performance framework to create a highly engaging and impactful experience.
Our approach is interactive, engaging and supportive. We come from a place of empowerment, rather than fear. Designed to help you see new possibilities - we create experiences and provide the tools for you to create practices to increase your awareness and skill so you can make intentional and powerful choices. Our approach is experiential (meaning we are doing - not sitting), fully inclusive and designed to support all abilities.
2. I am really excited to do this, but my daughter is resistant. She doesn't want to miss the weekend with her friends and I'm afraid she won't engage in the experience.
We understand that you and your daughter have a lot going on and taking a full weekend away at this point feels like a big commitment. We are fully confident that both you and your daughter will leave with tremendous value - more deeply connected, grateful, and excited for the future.
We often deal with people who are resistant and only showing up because they feel they "have to" be there. One of the more exciting parts of our work is when we see the transformation in those people by the end of the weekend.
Don't worry, we got you covered! No matter how resistant she may be coming in to the weekend, your daughter will be so grateful for the experience by the end. We promise!
3. Is this like group therapy?
We are not therapists. We're coaches, facilitators, and experts and creating highly engaging experiences that raise personal awareness, create connection, and reveal possibilities. We don't have the answers for you, we have a framework and tools help you come up with your best ones. You and your daughter each have valuable perspectives and tools as well. Part of our job is to create an open, connected and engaged learning community among participants where we value each others perspectives and learn together. Our focus is to help you get clear and to see possibilities for the future you want to create, while also and finding joy & gratitude in the present. Everyone gains something different from this experience - we are all unique!
4. Is there a limit to the number of attendees?
There will be a maximum of 20 mother-daughter pairs and 3-4 facilitators to ensure and impactful experience for all attendees.
5. My daughter is vegan, will there be food she can eat?
Absolutely. We will work with you and the wonderful Chef's at Sugar Lake Lodge to make sure any food needs are fully met. There will be plenty of healthy and delicious food all weekend to meet any nutritional needs.
6. The drive to Sugar Lake Lodge from the Twin Cities seems long. Why don't you hold the session somewhere more local?
In our experience, some of the most valuable time with your teen can be in the car. There are limited distractions (other than perhaps her phone), and you have time to decompress. Leaving the rest of your many obligations 3 hours away will allow you both to be more fully present in the weekend experience. Sugar Lake Lodge in a gorgeous property with a beautiful, spring-fed lake. We promise the drive will be well worth it!
